Abstract | This Spanish language edition of "Learning To Read and Write: Developmentally Appropriate Practices for Young Children," presents effective research-based strategies for promoting children's literacy learning in preschool, kindergarten, and elementary classrooms and infant/toddler settings. Including classroom photos and children's work, the book offers guidance and ideas for teachers to help young children on the road to reading and writing competence. The book reprints a strong, coherent framework for effective practice from a joint position statement of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (the book's publisher) and the International Reading Association.
