Abstract | Brief summaries are provided of 17 library projects being conducted in Illinois during 1974. These deal with the following matters: 1) the development of the Illinois State Library; 2) library manpower training; 3) library research; 4) the Illinois State Library Materials Processing Center; 5) the professional development of library personnel; 6) the demonstration of library services to groups without libraries; 7) the provision of services to groups lacking adequate libraries; 8) library resources, research, and references; 9) bibliographic control and access to resources; 10) public library system development; 11) a children's book review and examination center; 12) multimedia services; 13) library services to the institutionalized; 14) library services to the blind and the physically handicapped; 15) local public library services; 16) multitype library activities. Each summary provides a brief description of the project, including details about its goals and major activities, the agencies which support it, and the legislation which enables it. (PB) |
