Abstract | This report addresses itself to an important part of educational planning--community involvement. During the past few years, a variety of techniques has been devised to make citizen participation in the planning process more effective. One technique which has been utilized with considerable success, particularly in the field of education facilities planning, is charrette--a technique for studying educational problems within the context of total community planning needs in a compressed time period. The authors provide a brief introduction to the technique and describe three case studies of its application. They also develop a step-by-step procedure for organizing a charrette. (Authors) |
