Abstract | This book presents single-case design (SCD) as the experimental methodology for measuring response to educational intervention. The primary goal of this book is to provide guidance in the use of experimental methods in daily educational practice. Throughout, [the authors] emphasize that the benefits of educational intervention are maximized when a truly scientific approach is adopted. ... Three chapters are dedicated to an understanding of SCD and a review of specific methods. Two chapters are devoted to a variety of relevant analytic methods, and one chapter is focused on brief experimental analysis. Also included are introductory and concluding chapters that embed SCD in modern education in general and an RTI [response to intervention] service delivery model in particular. These chapters include guiding questions to facilitate effective and efficient use of SCD an analysis in an educational problem solving model. Throughout this book, examples of SCD used for educational intervention are presented. (DIPF/Orig.). |
