Abstract | According to the legal commentaries on job structure, it is obligatory for assistant professor to receive education in systematic teacher supervision and advising. The Centre for University Teaching and Learning offers, as one of its responsibilities for the development and implementation of courses within the University Teacher Education at Aalborg University, the course described herein for assistant professor. Through this course for assistant professor, participants develop the knowledge, skills, and methods from within the didactic, pedagogical, and learning theorybased fields to ensure that they possess the ability to develop and implement understandable and inspiring researchbased education programs in various educational contexts and with diverse groups of students. The notion that a good teacher must possess natural talents with special inborn abilities should be abandoned. Good educational skills can be developed and the acquisition of knowledge and skills based on didactic, pedagogical and learning theory fields can be inspired in order to ensure the continued development and improvement of the field of education.
