Abstract | This Systems and Procedures Exchange Center (SPEC) kit contains a collection of representative documents on performance review procedures in academic and research libraries. The kit comprises: (1) performance appraisal forms from the Stanford University Libraries; (2) a rating scale evaluation form and an essay evaluation form for professional librarians from Duke University Library; (3) general guidelines, instructions, and a performance appraisal form from Columbia University; (4) an SEC evaluation form; (5) a professional performance review form from the University of Kentucky Libraries; (6) suggested criteria for promotion of library faculty from Notre Dame University; (7) procedures, guidelines, and forms for performance evaluation of non-academic staff and professional staff from Washington University Libraries; (8) a promotion plan for librarians from the University of Maryland, College Park; and (9) a performance evaluation form from the Indiana University Libraries. A brief review of SPEC services, a summary of the results of the SPEC Personnel Survey, and a list of SPEC publications are attached. (KM) |
