Abstract	Developed to assist those responsible for financial matters in Catholic elementary schools, this manual presents each topic briefly and simply, taking into account administrators' minimal formal financial training. It is divided into six sections. Chapter 1, "Daily Financial Operations," describes the specifics of handling receipts, billings, and expenditures, and gives examples of double- and single-entry accounting systems. An appendix illustrates the systems outlined. Chapter 2, "The Annual Budget," outlines the steps involved in preparing budgets and includes four appendixes. "Tuition," chapter 3, provides a detailed discussion of the pricing formula and time of collection along with five appendixes with sample forms. "Long-Range Planning," chapter 4, delineates the differing roles and responsibilities of the pastor, principal, and school board in planning development, and includes eight appendixes. Chapter 5, "Fundraising," presents different fund-raising strategies and includes detailed examples. In chapter 6, "Steps Toward Development," the process involved in operating a development fund is outlined. (MD)
