Abstract | Analyzed data from the National Assessment of Educational Progress and the Common Core of Data to determine the extent to which student achievement (in mathematics) was related to districts' control over instructional expenditure. Findings do not support the hypothesis that local districts could improve academic performance by increasing instructional spending. (SLD) |
