Abstract | The benefits of early childhood education are well known, but access to quality programs is a challenge for children living in marginalized communities. Mobile Creches (MC), a non-profit nongovernmental organization based in Delhi, India, pursues the mission to ensure all young children, especially the most vulnerable children, have access to the benefits of early childhood development programs. This article begins by describing the state of young children in India. It then provides an overview of MC, including its three main models of child care delivery (demonstration, employer-run, and tripartite), its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and some of its recent developments.
