Abstract | Explored the experiences of five visible minority immigrant women as they went through the teacher certification process in Ontario, Canada. All had teaching experience and certification in their native countries. Data from observations and interviews indicated that these women faced great obstacles (systematic, social, and general) in attempting to become teachers in North America which served to dramatically alter their dreams.
