| Abstract | The objectives of this course are (1) to assist each participant with the development of a consciousness about the future and the impact of change; (2) to assist each participant in discussing and assessing the implications of change and future shock in our present times; and (3) to stimulate each participant's creative abilities as to how the future might be and, therefore, what kinds of action might be warranted. The course guide is divided into two sections entitled: Can Technology Solve the Problems Caused by Technology? and Setting the Course for the Future. Each section contains several behavioral objectives and learning activities, including discussing the book "Future Shock," preparing a multimedia presentation on future shock, writing a science fiction story, and preparing a report on the values and role of future society.
