Abstract | The field of international and comparative education continues to evolve and grow in new and exciting directions. A substantial amount of research exists pertaining to institutional rationales of internationalization. However, little empirical research has focused on why academics engage in activities with international dimensions, especially when this work is not recognized and rewarded in tenure and promotion decisions. This contribution, based on the findings of a larger study, examines motivations of faculty engagement in internationalization and suggests an agenda for future research. (As Provided). |
