Abstract	This booklet focuses on teaching individuals with autism some social rules and routines that can be used in a variety of situations and applied across settings. It addresses the selection of interpersonal skill objectives, motivating the person with autism to try to interact, teaching ways to express feelings, helping peers to interact with friends who have autism, finding supportive peers, and providing information and support to peers. The booklet presents sample interpersonal skill objectives and teaching procedures to achieve those objectives. These skills include tolerating being in a group, participating in a group, approaching people, identifying feelings, respecting others' needs, pleasant touching, handling teasing, reinforcing friendly behavior, making friends, giving another person time and space, and understanding the perspective of others. For each skill, the booklet provides a rationale, lead-up activities, teaching procedures, associated objectives, plan for motivation, and precautions. (JDD)
