Abstract | This document contains an agreement made in December 1997 between the State of Minnesota/Minnesota State Colleges and Universities and the Minnesota Community College Faculty Association. The contract's purpose was to promote effective relations between the two entities, as well as to (1) further quality education by maintaining a high standard of academic excellence and efficient governmental services; (2) establish equitable and peaceful procedures for the resolution of complaints and grievances without interruption of work and interference in the efficient operation of the colleges; (3) maintain and increase quality of services; and (4) establish a formal understanding relative to all conditions of employment. Articles 1 through 29 are discussed in the document, and cover topics including recognition, strikes and lockouts, association deductions, non-discrimination, management and association rights, representatives, work year and week, wages, leaves of absence, retirement provisions, expense allowances, insurance, faculty mobility, faculty rights, discipline, and legislation.
