Abstract | The library one-shot is common in academic libraries, though not universally loved by academic librarians. This article examines several ways in which single-session library instruction can benefit from the development and implementation of more well-rounded learning opportunities, which may be used in conjunction with or in place of the one-shot. The author pulls from literature published in the last decade as well as their own experiences to justify a net- or web-based approach to library instruction. They provide several sample instruction method formulas that allow for adaptation and flexibility based on the needs and values of individual institutions or librarians. (As Provided). |
