Abstract | This report presents the results of a conference on furthering teacher education in language laboratory use. A review of recommendations for innovation, adopted at a previous conference (see FL 002 711) serves as background for summaries of papers on the following subjects: (1) foreign-language learning goals and consequences for methodology, (2) the role of laboratories in foreign-language teaching, with special attention given to pattern drill types and work at the university level, (3) coordination and integration of laboratory and classroom work, and (4) taped materials for foreign-language teaching in universities. An annotated bibliography and a list of local officials connected with the conference are included. (RS) |
