| Abstract | Conclusion Going through these nine steps takes considerable time (at least one week for each team member just to design a single lesson). It takes the faculty member (if it is their first time teaching on TV) at least 200 hours of their own time to design the remaining lessons for the course; they receive remuneration for these 200 hours. Although the design and production of many distance education courses using this method can be extremely time consuming, the course is replicated and can be re-used year after year with only minor modifications. Most importantly, in this day of restructuring education and high tech/high touch, distance students benefit by being able to receive quality education. As educators, we are being held accountable for the quality of our product now more than ever. We cannot afford to let our students down. |
