Abstract | Without question, sustainability efforts and initiatives are on the rise on college campuses. In a 2007 American College Personnel Association (ACPA) presentation, Debra Rowe reported that across the country there were 250 sustainability coordinators/offices/committees, 300 LEED (green) buildings, 275 campus sustainability assessments that had been conducted, and 271 campuses that had signed up for the Campus Climate Challenge demonstrating increased student activism. This article outlines a film series focused on sustainability issues that can be copied or modified for use by other institutions. The authors describe the University of North Carolina Wilmington's Sustainability Film Series and the impact it has had on both the university and local communities. (Contains 15 notes.) (ERIC). |
