Abstract	About 1,000 students from 50 states and 60 countries attended the second annual Clinton Global Initiative University. The project, an outgrowth of the Clinton Global Initiative for world leaders, challenges participants to take "good intentions and turn them into measurable changes in other people's lives" by submitting detailed commitments to action to wrestle with global problems, including hunger, pollution, human trafficking, and AIDS. Following through on commitments and inspiring classmates to get involved are critical at a time when foundations and charities are hurting for money, said the former President. "Sometimes I feel like I've lost faith in my generation, and it's uplifting to be around so many people who want to change the world," said one student. Acknowledging the intensity of effort to sustain such commitment, another admitted that the change of pace provided at the end of the weekend-long meeting to clean up a park in a low-income neighborhood was welcome: "It was a great way to meet people when there was no pressure to solve the world's problems."
