Abstract | Investigates the rhetoric of the posthuman bodies of heroin addicts in the 1996 film "Trainspotting." Notes that the film epitomizes the permeable, fluctuating nature of the physical body and thus highlights the limitations of critical approaches grounded in moral judgment and linear reason. Concludes by drawing out some possible social and political implications of a reconfigured notion of corporeality. (SG) |
