| Abstract | An examination of 29 films that included some reference to physical education found that portrayals of physical educators were frequently one-dimensional and often treated as caricatures. References to physical education and physical educators were disproportionately negative and reflected problems that have been presented in the professional literature (e.g., extreme images of female physical educators and the locker room as a place for humiliation and aggression).
