Abstract | Conducting research with undergraduate men of color can expose participants and researchers to trauma, which presents both challenges and opportunities. Using data from The National Study on Latino Male Achievement (TNSLMA), this article offers insights about how top-down and bottom-up processes can facilitate healing as scholars process traumatic experiences with research participants. Implications center on using trauma-informed practices to enhance scholars' praxes and to minimize deleterious effects of revisiting traumatic memories. (As Provided). |
