Abstract | Peer tutors at West Chester University's Learning Assistance and Resource Center have the opportunity to advance in their professional roles by becoming Peer Tutor Coordinators (PTCs). PTCs supervise peer tutors within the learning center and are instrumental to its overall success. PTCs acquire time management, communication, problem-solving, professionalism, and adaptability skills that are beneficial to their learning center roles as well as their professional endeavors. To help fill the gap in the literature, this article highlights the PTC role, competencies that promote professional development and leadership, learning center goals, and implications for future practice in this important area of research.
