Abstract	Have you ever imagined yourself as a movie producer who could tell the stories of the remarkable successes in the field of visual impairment and blindness? With the right buildup music and the careful selection of a popular actor or a promising young ingenue (ideally, someone with a visual impairment), any one of these real-life stories could be a candidate for next year's Academy Awards. As the author reads this month's Practice Perspectives, she couldn't help but consider a future film production. She imagined the hidden drama behind Jacko and her fellow authors' descriptions of how an early intervention program began in south Florida at the Miami Lighthouse. The author emphasizes that the story of the development and success of a program that was built with the resources and contributions of a community provides a real-life reminder of how effective collaboration can be. In this case, reality is even better than the imagined big screen version. (ERIC).
