AbstractThis qualitative, phenomenological study looks into strategies to increase career educators' retention for the coming school year. To comprehend the elements most influencing education at this time, a thorough analysis of the state of public schools now and subjects relating to changes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic is presented. Technology usage has become a must. Major issues addressed include attrition, training, increased responsibility, inadequate compensation, and fatigue. In addition, variables impacting teachers who continued in the field despite COVID-related changes are taken into account. Three Virginia school districts in a single geographic location with comparable demographic trends are the subject of this study. The information was gathered from a variety of sources, including related studies, websites, manuals, and open-ended interviews. The focus is on the viewpoint of the district's human resources (HR) managers rather than any particular teacher's choice to leave or stay in the teaching field. Each school district is examined for its present methods and questioned about strategy execution that will help retain classroom instructors, in addition to reviewing school district manuals and policy handbooks. Each district is first presented independently, and then a thorough summary discusses the similarities and contrasts between each district. All of the districts under study shared a number of commonalities, including commitments to culture and community, chances for advancement, perks and wellness, pay and compensation, and mentoring. The results are distilled into suggestions for best practices that are meant to help school districts and HR managers boost retention among their classroom educators.
