| Abstract | Virtual simulation has become prevalent in healthcare education. Much evidence proves that virtual simulation is an effective training tool for nursing training in western countries. However, its application in Hong Kong nursing education is still developing. The insufficiency of knowledge impedes the development of virtual simulation in Hong Kong nursing education. This study aims to explore the new nurse graduates' experience with virtual simulation learning and how they make sense of this experience. Kolb's experiential learning model offers nursing education a valuable framework for understanding the virtual simulation learning process. Eight graduate nurses were recruited via snowball sampling and shared their stories in an individual online interview. The part-time nurse learners highly valued virtual simulation learning in their registered nursing program. The findings were categorized under three themes and thirteen sub-themes. The significance of active participation and reflection during virtual simulation learning has been emphasized by every participant. In addition, the learners showed devotion to nursing and enthusiasm for strengthening their clinical competency via virtual simulation practice.
