Abstract | This journal-ready dissertation contains three articles related to the developmental mathematics redesign at Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC). The first article covers background information related to the Maricopa Community College District (MCCCD) sponsored initiative from Fall 2011 through implementation at CGCC in Fall 2017. The article also contains lessons learned from experiences by the researcher. The second article is a thorough literature review of developmental mathematics redesigns and implications for administrators and faculty members. The third article is a descriptive quantitative study that examined the efficacy of the mathematics redesign. Differences in grades were examined in developmental mathematics courses, and intermediate and college algebra based on student enrollment patterns. Demographic characteristics were also examined.
