Abstract | A Scholarship of Integration helps learners and teachers make sense of higher education. The separation of higher education from people's lifeworlds has historical roots. Knowledge production accelerates and makes it increasingly difficult for students to get an oversight, develop ethical norms and judgements and feel in control of their situation. Teachers need tools and methods to engage students and support their understanding and preparedness to change what they find troublesome, unfair and daring. Digital Storytelling (DS) is a method for promoting student's integration of knowledge, and this chapter discusses it in the light of educational philosophy. It asks what possibilities DS has for setting a larger agenda, as a didactic cornerstone--for "Bildung"--or signature pedagogy for higher education.
