AbstractSince the early 1900s, the traditional thinking about education and school role in the USA has shifted to view schools as non-isolated entities from the larger society where schooling should be re-energized with help from the society, which includes student homes and communities. This mixed approach action research study evolves around improving parents' engagement in their children's learning by implementing a parental involvement program that enriches parents' engagement in their children's school activities and events. Six female parents voluntarily participated in the research study. The six participants have children in different grades at the school from kindergarten till seventh grade. Volunteers participated in a pre-training quantitative questionnaire, as well as attended a two-day training sessions followed by post-training quantitative and qualitative questionnaires. The data collection methodology helped the researcher to answer the two following research questions: (1) How will implementing a parental involvement program be utilized to improve the parents' engagement in their children learning at a small, private school? and (2) How will the parent input be utilized to improve the parental involvement program at a small, private school? The results of this research study confirmed that, the right path to improve parents' involvement is through taking into consideration parents and students own needs for the adoption of a high-efficiency involvement program. Additionally, barriers that prevent parents' involvement should be considered by educators to make sure that the school is capable of preparing activities that will help students as well as parents through creating more effective learning opportunities.
