| Abstract | The envisioning of the city of the future deals with several considerations in regards to economic, political, educational and social welfare. We are increasingly living in a world full of information, but that still lacks of some basic instruments to become great in respect of human welfare, dignity and knowledge. A vision of a 21st century modern city is presented in this paper as part of a global vision that tends to ideologically encourage the creation of knowledge societies but that in reality is creating something else, a paradigm of what some scholars have called "entertainment societies".
