Abstract | "Straight A's: Public Education Policy and Progress" is a biweekly newsletter that focuses on education news and events both in Washington, DC and around the country. The following articles are included in this issue: (1) President Bush Releases Fiscal Year 2007 Budget: Education Funding Cut by $2.1 Billion; $100 Million Request for Striving Readers; and (2) State of the State Addresses: Governors Agree on Importance of Math and Science to Future Productivity. This issue also contains a special insert that outlines the president's fiscal year 2007 budget request for selected education programs designed to help middle and high school students.
