| Abstract | This fact sheet supplies statistical data on student enrollment, programs, graduate results, tuition, and economic benefits of the Maine Community College System (MCCS) for 2006-2007. It notes that enrollment is up 47% since transition to community colleges, the vast majority of first-year MCCS students are Maine residents, more students are entering directly from high school, the average age of community college students is 29, and taxpayers' investments in community college students are returned within 7 to 10 years of graduation through increased income and sales tax revenues.
