| Abstract | "Zero to Three" is a single-focus bulletin of the National Center for Infants, Toddlers, and Families providing insight from multiple disciplines on the development of infants, toddlers, and their families. Noting that during the earliest years of life, much of children's learning about themselves and the world around them occurs in connection with daily routines, this issue focuses on the complex and subtle social interactions that occur during daily routines and rituals. The featured articles include the following: (1) "Fresh Perspectives on Young Children and Family Routines" (Lorraine F. Kubicek); (2) "Routines of Daily Living and Rituals in Family Life: A Glimpse at Stability and Change during the Early Child-Raising Years" (Barbara H. Fiese); (3) "How Mothers in Four American Cultural Groups Shape Infant Learning during Mealtimes" (Mary Martini); (4) "What's for Dinner? Family Functioning, Maternal Depression, and Early Childhood Outcomes" (Susan Dickstein and Sarah Martin); (5) "Child Care Is Rich in Routines" (Perry M. Butterfield); and (6) "Bridges to Literacy: Early Routines that Promote Later School Success" (Sharon Rosenkoetter and Lauren R.
