Abstract | This Spanish- and Portuguese-language bulletin presents articles covering child development programs with varying degrees of parent involvement. As explained in the bulletin's opening editorial, the articles focus on the keys to good parenting, influences such as the programs environmental context, goals and methods on the degree and manner of parent participation, the most productive ways and locations to work with parents, and the evaluation of such programs in order to know how they work or to make decisions. The articles are as follows: (1) "Parents and Child Development"; (2) "The Ability of Parents to Value the Parent-Child Relationship" (Portuguese); (3) "Community Participation in Childhood [Programs] in Ciudad Sandino [Sandino City]"; (4) "Community Organizations of Parents: Experience from a Project in Northern Argentina"; (5) "Among Mothers: To Grow by Sharing" (in Portuguese); (6) "The Mother-GuideA Mother for Everyone"; and (7) "Assessment of Programs with Parent Participation." The bulletin concludes with a list of relevant resources. (BH) |
