Abstract | This annual report outlines the mission and goals of New Zealand's Early Childhood Development Unit (ECDU), established in 1989 to promote the development and provision of high quality, accessible, and culturally appropriate educational and developmental facilities/services for families and young children. The report contains a directory of ECDU addresses; a brief description of ECDU; statements of the office's purpose, mission, and values; and reports by ECDU's chairperson, chief executive, and the audit office. A statement of service performance details the performance measures covering the ECDU's key activities. Activity areas and financial information are included. Specific information is presented in two output areas: (1) early childhood education; and (2) advice to the Minister of Education and the Ministry. (KB) |
