| Abstract | This paper researched persuasive tactics used by college age females on college age males. Previous evidence indicates that nonverbal persuasion is more effective than verbal persuasion. The topics explored in previous research on persuasion consisted of physical attractiveness, indirect knowledge of influence, tactics used by children and college age students, tactics used by women in different cultures, stereotypical tactics, and gender influence on persuasion. To date, there has been an absence of research on dating and single college age females and their use of nonverbal, verbal, liking and authoritative persuasion techniques on college age males, leading to the topics researched in this study. It was concluded that the nonverbal and liking persuasion techniques were the most effective. This study also found that females in relationships do not always get their way more often than females who are not in relationships. (Contains 52 references.
