Abstract	This book allows students to use two specific geographic perspectives - spatial and ecological - to help them understand spatial patterns and processes and the interaction of living and nonliving elements in complex webs of relationships within nature and between nature and society. The set of 12 lessons include: (1) "Where in the World? (International Exports)"; (2) "Where Do You Shop? (A Class Survey)"; (3) "Why Nations Trade (Comparative Advantage in Action)"; (4) "International Interdependence (The United States as Global Trader)"; (5) "Money Around the World (Exchange Rates)"; (6) "Limiting Trade (Trade Restrictions and Their Effects)"; (7) "Places and Production (GDP and Choropleth Maps)"; (8) "GDP and Life Expectancy (Analyzing Choropleth Maps)"; (9) "Population Pyramids (Demographics and Economics)"; (10) "Which State is the Largest? (Using Cartograms)"; (11) "The Lancaster Landfill (Consequences of Past Decisions)"; and (12) "Geo-Poems and Eco-Poems (Adding a Creative Perspective)." Each lesson includes core concepts, objectives, materials needed, a lesson description, procedures, suggested evaluation, and extension activities. An 86-item glossary and a 14-item selected bibliography conclude the volume. (EH)
