| Abstract | At the center of the conceptual framework there is visual imagery. Man's emotional and mental behavior is built on archetypal symbols that are the source of creative ideas. Native American pictography, in particular, illustrates this in the correlation between gesture speech and verbal speech. The author's research in this area has included a series of conversations with a preschool child about the imaginative formation of the concept of "a cloud." The examination of one child's creative thinking indicates that scientific thinking occurs alongside artistic thinking. The paper concludes that the understanding of the role of imagery in the creative processes, both scientific and metaphorical, will help in building the right attitudes towards the comeback of picture-language.
