Abstract | This mathematics curriculum is designed to be taught by the technology education teacher during the power technology class over a period of 2 years. It is intended to be elective in nature; upon successful completion of both years, one-half credit in mathematics is to be awarded. A list of the academic competencies contained in the curriculum cites the chapters in which the competencies are located. Each of the 13 units consists of these components: competencies, lesson, and hands-on or written activity sheet. Unit titles are as follows: orientation and safety, tools of the trade, measuring, preventive maintenance, types of engines, engine disassembly, engine lubrication and cooling, electricity and the battery, charging system, starting system, fuel system, brake systems, and careers.
