| Abstract | This book puts into a broader theoretical and political perspective the issues of racial inequality and minority underachievement that face educators in schools and universities across the United States. After presenting a critical overview of mainstream and radical solutions to racial inequality in education, it offers an alternative approach that stresses the importance of understanding the social context and nuance in the dynamics of race relations.
