Abstract | This paper discusses the problems and general solutions of statistics teaching by summarizing some strategies that have been effective with part-time students in off-campus settings. Included are discussions on: (1) applications of computer skills and student projects; (2) teaching statistical thinking using various modes of presentations and introducing new topics with a review of the prerequisites; and (3) textbook issues including lecture notes and student study groups. A summary of teaching strategies is presented. (YP) |
