Abstract | The duties and tasks found in these task lists form the basis of instructional content for secondary, postsecondary, and adult occupational training programs for business, marketing, and management occupations. The business, marketing, and management occupations are divided into eight clusters. The clusters and occupations are: accounting-bookkeeping cluster (bookkeeper, bookkeeper-machine operator, payroll clerk, payroll clerk--data processing, accounting clerk, accounting clerk--data processing), computer operation and programming cluster (terminal operator, computer operator), information processing cluster (word processor, information specialist, accounting clerk--data processing, terminal operator, payroll clerk--data processing), secretarial cluster (stenographer, secretary, legal secretary, medical secretary), general office clerk cluster (receptionist, typist), product-oriented marketing cluster (sales clerk, salesperson, stock clerk--self-service store, cashier, cashier/checker), service-oriented cluster (teller), and business ownership/management cluster (small business owner/operator). Matrices for each cluster list the duties and tasks and indicate which occupations include that duty or task. Each cluster also includes a list of employability skills that are important for all occupations. (YLB) |
