Abstract | The duties and tasks found in these task lists form the basis of instructional content for secondary, postsecondary, and adult occupational training programs for home economics occupations. The home economics occupations are divided into four clusters. The clusters and occupations are: child and day care services (child care worker/instructor, preschool teacher, child care manager/administrator, child care attendant/aide, elder care aide/adult day care worker, teacher aide/educational assistant, infant and toddler care worker), clothing and apparel services (fashion sales clerk, fashion store manager, fashion sales manager, fashion buyer), institutional and home management services (cleaner/domestic housekeeper, cleaner/institutional housekeeper), and food services (dining room attendant, counter attendant, wait person, kitchen helper/cook's helper, short-order cook, baker's helper, baker, institutional cook, restaurant cook/chef, food service manager). Matrices for each cluster list the duties and tasks and indicate which occupations include that duty or task. Each cluster also includes a list of employability skills that are important for all occupations. (YLB) |
