Abstract	A review of the literature reveals obvious cultural differences between black and white members of American society. Further analysis indicates that the culture of black Americans has fostered the development of a number of characteristics that would help them to function in corporate cultures that are populated primarily by white Americans. Distinct cultural differences appear in the areas of values, language behaviors, nonverbal behaviors, and assumptions about relationships to the world. In examining each of those four categories, it becomes apparent that although ethnic differences provide group members with different ways of coping with the world, the general goals of survival and advancement are found in each cultural group. Further research is needed in order to explore the adaptability of black cultural skills to corporate settings. (DF)
