Abstract | This correspondence course, originally developed for the Marine Corps, is designed to instruct students in the performance of preventive maintenance on motor vehicles. Instructional materials are presented in three chapters as follows: (1) Major Maintenance Areas (maintenance system, tires, batteries, cooling systems, and vehicle lubrication; (2) Driver's Preventive Maintenance (daily maintenance, weekly maintenance, and batteries); and (3) Field Expedient Repairs. The course contains four lessons covering the maintenance system and tires; batteries, cooling system, and vehicle lubrication; daily and weekly maintenance; and field-expedient repairs. Each lesson begins with a general objective, which is a statement of what the student should learn. Written assignments follow based on the instructional materials presented. (KC) |
