Abstract	This selection catalog includes broad classifications of the materials adopted for statewide use in California, and descriptions of their chief characteristics and approaches. It is not intended to be considered a substitute for careful examination of these materials, but can only help limit the number of materials school district personnel will need to examine. The document has three major sections. The first includes information on basic programs adopted by the State Board in 1981. An annotated index provides pertinent information, with more detailed data provided on order form pages. The second part is an annotated index of basic instructional material programs, covering some data and page number references, with appropriate price lists and order forms for the items. Part three is an annotated index of supplementary materials, with a format nearly identical to part two. (MP)
