Abstract	This document reports the development and evaluation of "Patterns," a unit in the Preprimary Mathematics Program developed within the University of Georgia Research and Development Center in Early Educational Stimulation. An attempt was made to determine the appropriateness of the activities in the unit for children three, four, and five years of age, the instructional time required for the unit, and the degree to which the objectives of the unit were accomplished. Results showed that the unit was teachable and successful in accomplishing the goals of instruction; the time taken for the unit varied with different age groups.
