Abstract	This report describes the activities of a UNESCO consultant who visited Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and Malawi for the purpose of assisting local education agencies in the Biology Teaching Pilot Project. The consultant's report briefly summarizes the status of the School Science Project (SSP) in these East African countries. Also listed are the attempts and activities that have been undertaken to write books, train teachers and evaluate the program. Recommendations for future action are given. (PS)
