Abstract | Reminiscing about the positive and negative developments of Social Psychology over the past year, the journal's editor points out that the journal has had a greater share of better rather than worse times. Specifically, many changes have been implemented during the past year (e.g., online submission, acceptance of replications, increased content) and many things have been kept constant (e.g., double-blind review, special issues). Moreover, Social Psychology's impact factor has increased to 1.892 in 2012, raking it at 15 of 60 journals belonging to the same category. Its output has increased by 50% due to bimonthly instead of quarterly publication. In addition, the international appeal of Social Psychology is reflected in the diversity of European contributions as well as those from other areas of the globe. Less positive changes include those in the editorial staff, with terms ending for 5 experienced associate editor team members. In addition, the lengthy turnover time from submission to editorial decisions is noted as an area with room for improvement. (ZPID). |
