Abstract | "Globalization not only integrates business interactions and communication between countries but also changes the economic and social relations within societies world-wide. 'Societies in Transition' was the leading theme of the meeting of the Congress of Political Econornists International in Buenos Aires in 2013. The papers in this book discuss the disparities and conformances, problems, and successes of transition in countries of North Arnerica, Africa and Europe. The analyses are timely given the global influence of the world wide financial crisis of 2007. They mirror the aims of the organization COPE International: to examine solutions to essential problems of global economics and social conditions." (publisher's description).
